5.4.4.2 PROCESS TABLE

Display Formats: Process information is displayed in a tabular structure. There are two formats in which they may
be presented:
A. Busy list: This format is used when displaying a list of busy processes (top 5 or 10). Some level of detail

information is displayed per process, as stated below:
Process: Name of the process. “??” is displayed for unnamed processes.
P/B: Designates whether this process is the primary (P) or Backup (B) process of a NonStop process pair. A

blank entry signifies that this process is not part of a NonStop process pair.

CPU, PIN: CPU and PIN of the Process.
Program: The object file name of process, excluding volume and sub-volume names.
Pri: Priority at which the process is running.
P F R: Three flags designating the current state of the process:

P – Process contains privileged code.
F – Process is waiting for a page fault.
R – Process is on the ready list.

%WT: is the process wait state (in octal). A value of 000 indicates the process is not waiting.
Owner: Guardian Group and User name, under which the process is running. For remote processes, this is

displayed as group ID, UserID.

Ancestor: Name of the Ancestor Process (process which created this process)
Busy: Current (possible delay of up to 15 seconds) CPU busy of the process in both numerical and

graphical format. The graphical display is normally shown in green, but changes color to orange when its
CPU busy is between 80 and 90 percent.

If fewer than 5 or 10 processes are displayed then it means that out of the top 5/10 busiest processes
searched, a few died.

B. Detail list: This format is used when displaying a list of processes from the process screen, or when the “All”

option is used after clicking on a CPU # of the live performance graph. Full detail information is displayed per
process, as stated below:

Process: Name of the process. “??” is displayed for unnamed processes.
P/B: Designates whether this process is the primary (P) or Backup (P) process of a NonStop process pair. A

blank entry signifies that this process is not part of a NonStop process pair.
