Alias
Entire Group (Group.* or Group, *)

Add Authorization:
To add a new setup for a user, click on “Add new User”. A new window will open up which will have two listbox
areas; one with all the available administrative access functions and a 2nd one with all the functions the user can
access.

The following screenshot shows the Add User screen on the Access Control page, which allows you to grant a user
access to Admin functions, User functions, or both.

Select the desired functions and hit the Add>> button to add it to the Selected listbox

.

Also, specify the (Group.User / Alias) for which the authorization is added.
If the “Audit Operations” option is set to “Yes”, then whenever the User switches/uses a Web ViewPoint feature,
an entry would be written to the Admin Log File ADMINLOG for operations to be audited.

To use the secure feature and add/delete user setups, the System Administrator will need to provide the following
“assigns” in the WVPCONF file:

ASSIGN SECUREDB, SECUREDB
ASSIGN AUDITLOGFILE, ADMINLOG

The files SecureDB and ADMINLOG are Key Sequenced files which are created during Web ViewPoint Installation.

Once a User Setup has been added to the SECUREDB file, the Security layer can be enforced by changing the Web
ViewPoint configuration file WVPCONF. The System Administrator will need to provide the following “param” to
enforce security:

PARAM ENFORCE-SECURITY YES

Note: If you use the Import feature of the Wizard Install, then all Admin and User accounts are carried forward to
the new configuration. The profile definitions control what menus are displayed and what functions a particular
user can perform.
