box. Each new message directed to the Sticky Window, opens a new Window, up to the number you’ve
specified (5 or 10). If that many Sticky Windows are already open, new messages will only be recorded in the
Base Window and will not open additional Windows. As you close one or more of the current sticky Windows,
new ones may be opened again, up to the designated maximum. Note that new messages do not overwrite
messages previously displayed on a Sticky Window. All messages however, will continue to be written in the
Base Window.
Once all the required settings are done, the user can then ‘Submit’ to go to the Live window or ‘Reset’ to reset
the settings made to default settings.

4.2.1.2 LIVE VIEW WINDOW

This Window maintains an on-line live connection with a dedicated EMS Distributor Process (FDIST) on the
NonStop Server. This process checks EMS messages as they are generated to determine if they meet your selection
criteria. For those that do, a copy is sent to this Window and is displayed at the bottom of the screen. You may
stop this flow of messages at any time by clicking on the icon on the upper right side of the screen. This
changes the icon to .You may click on this icon to restart the live stream of messages. The param FASTRESUME
needs to be set for the events to resume from the current position. If this param is not set, then after resume is
clicked, then events page will be refreshed and start from the beginning again.

Following is a sample of how Events are displayed in the Live Window


A Live Window can hold up to 500 EMS messages in the Events Monitor Window. It may be less when using a
customized display. There is an Event Settings feature Event display size under Presentation. The number that the
user inputs is the number of events they will see in the resulting Browser Window. The PARAM MAXEVENTS
