1.1.2 CMAX function
The CMAX axis controller, together with a VPWP proportional
directional control valve and a drive with a position measurĆ
ing system, forms a positioning system for pneumatic axes
(see section 1.2).
The positioning system permits:
ć Travel at selectable speed in any positions (position conĆ
trol)
ć The approach of a position and applying a defined force
(force control).
Mode of operation
CMAX functions The CMAX takes over the following functions:
ć Parameter storage (hardware configuration, records, conĆ
troller settings, etc.)
ć It ascertains system characteristic values of the conĆ
nected components (identification).
ć Specifies setpoint values (position or force)
ć Tracks setpoint and actual values (position or force conĆ
trol) by appropriately activating the proportional direcĆ
tional control valve.
Mode of operation The CMAX, valve, drive and displacement encoder are
connected to form a closed−loop control circuit.
