3 Description of instrument

The Laborota 4000 / 4001 efficient, 4010 / 4011 digital, 4002 / 4003 control

rotary evaporators are designed for distillation and evaporation of solutions.

The solution to be evaporated is in the evaporating flask (2). The solution is

evaporated by applying a suitable temperature of the heating bath (3) and

vacuum pressure as appropriate to the thermodynamic properties of the

solution. The settings can be adjusted on the control panel (5) of the

instrument base (4) and the heating bath controls (3). The drive (1) rotates the

evaporating flask to reduce the danger of boiling delays and accelerate

evaporation by increasing the surface area of the solution. The vapour passes

through the vapour tube into the condenser (7), where it condenses and flows

into the receiving flask (6).
