This command configures the user password authentication mode.

Do as follows on the router that the user logs on to:
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
user-interface [
ui-type ] first-ui-number [ last-ui-number ]
The user interface view appears.
Step 3 Run:
set authentication password { cipher | simple }
password
This command configures the authentication password.
