Data preparation
To complete the configuration, you need the following data:
• host address of Router B
• authentication mode and password
Configuration procedure
Step 1 Configure the IP address.
# Configure Router A.

* Configure Router B.

[ R o u t e r B - G i g a b i t E t h e r n e t 1 / 0 / 0 ] ip address 1.1.1.2 24
Step 2 Configure the authentication mode and password of Telnet on Router B.

[ R o u t e r B ] user-interface vty 0 4
[ R o u t e r B - u i - v t y 0 - 4 ] authentication-mode password
[ N o r t e l - u i - v t y 0 - 4 ] set authentication password simple 123456
[ R o u t e r B - u i - v t y 0 - 4 ] quit
Step 3 Log on to Router B from Router A through Telnet.
