stitch adjustments

1 stitch Width

To produce a pattern the stitch width

selector must be moved from its straight
stitch position 0 to any of the other posi
tions between 1 and 5. The larger the

number, the wider the pattern.

The three stitch patterns shown in green

must be sewn with stitch width 5 only.

2 Stitch Length

The stitch length dial controls the length
of stitches. The numbers around the edge
ot the dial express stitch length in milli

meter, the lower the number, the shorter
the stitch. Generally, shorter stitches are
best for light weight fabric; longer stitches

for heavy fabric. The area from 0 to 1 is

used for the adjustment of zig-zag satin
stitching (see page 49).

Using Stitch Length With
Flexi-Stitch Patterns

The yellow band in the 3 to 4 area on the

stitch length dial indicates the length at
which Flexi-Stitch patterns are to be sewn.
The higher the number within the yellow
area the longer your patterns will be.

Setting the Dial

• Turn dial so that stitch length desired

is positioned under the line on the dial.

• To shorten stitch length, turn the dial

to the left toward a lower number.

• To lengthen the stitch length, turn the

dial to the right toward a larger number

sera long.

ferior.

superior.
