4. Replace the retaining cap by tightening it snugly by hand to insure good electrical contact between the
nozzle and the torch. If the torch is using one of the CE retaining caps, use the CE cap tool to replace the
retaining cap.
If the cap does not go on easily, clean the threads on the torch body and the retaining cap and apply a small
amount of silicone grease to the O-ring located just below the threads of the torch body.
Note:
Failure to tighten the retaining cap snugly (or to keep the threads and current ring clean)
will result in pitting of the stainless steel current ring causing gas and water leaks around
the upper nozzle O-ring, impairing cut quality. Unless using the CE cap tool for CE
retaining caps, the retaining cap should be tightened by hand only.
