STATUS LED Troubleshooting

Be certain that the power supply has been through the Initial Checks as outlined earlier in this section before
troubleshooting STATUS LEDs.

When one of the STATUS LEDs illuminates, there is a fault condition that must be corrected in order for the
HT4001 power supply to become operational. If more than one LED illuminates, the system has multiple interlock
problems that must be corrected.

Notes:

LED ON =

LED OFF =

Lower three LEDs not connected to interlocks. See system wiring diagrams for reference.

1. RHF DOOR illuminated:

1.1. RHF door(s) is (are) not closed.

This LED will extinguish when 12 VDC is able to complete a path
through switches S1 and S2 in the RHF console. S1 and S2 are
closed when the doors of the RHF console are shut.

• Verify continuity between pins 34&35 of the RHF cable on the

power supply connector end. (See sheet 8 in wiring diagrams).

• Verify that S1 and S2 are functioning correctly.

• Check cable, connectors and associated wiring from REC3 of

PCB1 to RHF console.

Repair and/or replace defective component(s), if necessary.

Possible Causes and Solutions

2. TRANSFORMER illuminated:

2.1. Transformer T2 or one of the choppers is overheating.

This LED will extinguish when the main transformer (T2) is
operating in a normal temperature range (under 165° C) and
choppers (CH1-4) are also operating in a normal temperature
range (under 82° C). Temperature switches are connected in
series and will open and illuminate LED when transformer
overheats or if any of the choppers overheat.

• Check temperature switches (normally closed).

• Check pins, connectors and associated wiring to temperature

switches.

• Leave the fans running, and try restarting the unit after one

hour. If LED still illuminates, one of the choppers or the main
transformer may need to be replaced.
