Settings for PLC Link Communication

You must setup MICRO/I or Touch using WindO/I-NV2 or WindO/I-NV3 in order for it to be able to communicate with the PLC that
you will be using.

You will find the WindO/I-NV2 or WindO/I-NV3 setting items for PLC Link Communication in the Host I/F Selection and Config-
uration
- System Setup - Project dialog boxes (refer to WindO/I-NV2 User’s Manual or SmartAXIS Touch User's Manual).
Match the settings for the items in the following table to those of the PLC that you will be using.

HG1F transmits the data even if CS signal line is OFF.

Configuration Procedure

On the status bar, click

Manufacturer

Select the manufacturer, the Host I/F driver or Communication driver
from the list of compatible PLCs given in Chapter 2 that corresponds
to the one you will be using.

When the driver supporting 1: N communication is selected, the 1: N
Communication option becomes selectable.

Connection Type

On the Configuration tab,
in the System Setup
group, click Project, and
then click the Communi-
cation Interface
tab.

Protocol

The setting depends on the Connection to the PLC that you will use.

HG2G-5F, HG3G/4G:

Select Host Communication as the interface for PLC communi-
cation, and O/I Link Master or O/I Link Slave as the interface for
O/I Link communication. Refer to Chapter 3 "O/I Link Communica-
tion" on page 545
.

HG2G-S/-5S, HG1F/2F/2S/3F/4F:

Select Host Communication or O/I Link Slave from the

SERIAL 1. Select O/I Link Master or O/I Link Slave from the
O/I Link. Refer to Chapter 3 "O/I Link Communication" on page
545.

Touch:

Select the External Device Communication as the Port
(RS232C). Select the External Device Communication, O/I
Link Master
or O/I Link Slave as the Port (RS422/485). Refer to
Chapter 3 "O/I Link Communication" on page 545

Baud Rate

The setting depends on the Connection to the PLC that you will use.
Refer to Chapter 2 "Connection to a PLC" on page 23.
