6. To save your changes in the master configuration file, click the Save

Config button in the Configuration menu.

Authentication Protocol

N-None - This value represents no authentication protocol.
When messages are received, users are not authenticated.
This selection does not support a Privacy Protocol.

Note

You may want to assign NONE to a super user.

Authentication Password
Confirm Authentication
Password

An authentication password of 8 to 32 alphanumeric
characters. Applies only to MD5 and SHA authentication
protocols. You must enter the same password in both fields.

Privacy Protocol

Applies only to MD5 and SHA authentication protocols. The
possible values are:

D-DES - This value makes the DES privacy (or encryption)
protocol the privacy protocol for this User Table entry. With this
selection, messages transmitted between the host and the
device are encrypted with the DES protocol.

N-None - Select this value if you do not want a privacy protocol
for this User Table entry. With this selection, messages
transmitted between the host and the stack are not encrypted.

Privacy Password
Confirm Privacy Password

A privacy password of 8 to 32 alphanumeric characters.
Applies only to DES privacy protocol. You must enter the same
password in both fields.

Storage Type

The storage method of the entry. The possible values are:

V-Volatile - This setting prevents the stack from saving the
entry in the master configuration file. An entry with this storage
type is discarded the next time the stack is reset or powered
off.

N-NonVolatile - This setting allows the stack to save the entry
in the master configuration file when the save command is
issued. Allied Telesis recommends this storage type.

Row Status

The status of the entry. All entries have a status of Active.
