Refer to the information in Section 3 to start up the console and use the sport insert. Read Section 3
carefully to fully understand the following operation instructions and for MENU KEY operations.

The All Sport code for the Compulink Interface is 502. The console receives signal input from
the Compulink Timer on Pin 2 (+RX) and Pin 7 (GND) of J3 on the All Sport.
Data Format: Baud Rate 9,600, 1 Start Bit, 8 Data Bits, 2 Stop Bits, and No Parity. This
application uses the language style ASCII standard. For additional infromation refer to ED-4659,
C-33/Compulink Protocol Specifications.
When the console is running code 502 and is connected to the Compulink Timer, the console will
display the race information on the drag race display.
26.2 Test Mode
The console has built in test functions for the data input and the scoreboard output. These tests
will help isolate system problems and verify proper operation.
To test the scoreboard output, the ALL ON test and the NUMBER TEST keys are pressed. When
pressed these keys will put the specified pattern on the scoreboard. Once data has been received
from the timer, these keys will not function until the console has been restarted with code 502
again. This is to prevent the test data keys from putting up data during the race.
To test the data input the loopback test keys will be used. Pins 2 and 3 of J3 on the All Sport will
need to have an electrical connection made between them. To make this connection, place a bent
paper clip or a similar wire from pin 2 to pin 3 of J3. When this is done pressing any of the
loopback keys will send that data out on pin 3 of J3 on the console. The data should show on the
LCD on the console and also on the scoreboard. If this test works then the data input on the
console is functional.
