Syntax

show ip route entry <networkaddress>

<networkaddress>

Is a valid network address identifying the network on the

specified interface.

Default Setting

None

Display Message

Network Address: Is a valid network address identifying the network on the specified interface.

Subnet Mask: Is a mask of the network and host portion of the IP address for the attached network.

Protocol: Tells which protocol added the specified route. The possibilities are: local, static, OSPF, or RIP.

Total Number of Routes: The total number of routes.

Next Hop Intf: The outgoing router interface to use when forwarding traffic to the next destination.

Next Hop IP Address: The outgoing router IP address to use when forwarding traffic to the next router (if
any) in the path toward the destination.

Preference: The preference value that is used for this route entry.

Metric: Specifies the metric for this route entry.

6.2.1.7 show ip route precedence

This command displays detailed information about the route preferences. Route preferences
are used in determining the best route. Lower router preference values are preferred over
higher router preference values.

show ip route preferences

Display Message

Local: This field displays the local route preference value.
