3.2 Original Setting
This section describes how to specify the original types and direction.
3.2.1 Specifying Bind Direction of the Original: Bind Direction
Use this setting to obtain side-bound simplex or duplex copies from top-bound double-sided originals.
To make simplex or duplex copies having the same edge as page top from double-sided originals printed
upside down on the reverse side, select [Top] for Bind Direction in the Original Setting. Select [Right & Left]
for normal copying.

To make top-bound duplex copies, select [Top] in the Output Setting.
This setting makes duplex copies printed upside down on the reverse side, from single- or double-sided orig-
inals having the same edge as page top. See page 6-8 for details.
0 [Top] of Bind Direction in the Original Setting properly functions only when [2->2] or [2->1] is selected.
0 When the machine is reset, the bind direction setting will resume [Right & Left].
0 If [Top] of Bind Direction is specified in the Original Setting, [Top] of Bind Direction in the Output Setting
does not function properly.

Position the original.

Press [COPY] tab to display the Copy Screen.

Select either [2->2] or [2->1] in the Simplex/Duplex area.

Press [Original Setting].
The Original Setting Screen will be displayed.

Select [Top] in the [Bind Direction] area.
