Appendix I

Instantaneous Overcurrent Trip Point

The instantaneous overcurrent (IOC) trip point is a function of the maximum current limit value and the

motor’s armature current as shown in the following equation:

IOC Trip Point = Armature Amps x (Max Current Limit + 75%)

When the maximum current limit value is equal to 150%, the upper limit of the IOC trip point is set at 225% of
the motor’s armature current value. The parameter entry screen will display an error message if the IOC trip
point is greater than 225% of the Power Module’s D-C Amps current rating. Refer to section 4.2.1 of this
manual for more information.
