Description: The Armature Alpha Test Reverse bit is set to select the reverse bridge for the armature

alpha test. Note that bit 2 must also be set to enable the test. The firing angle value is entered into
the Armature Test Angle register 102/1 102 (CML_ALPHA%). If this bit is not set, the forward bridge
will be tested. This bit must be set before bit 2 and may not be changed while bit 2 is set.

Description: The Enable Field Identification Test bit is set to start the test in which the resistance and

time constant of the field are identified. Note that if you have performed auto-tuning and the results of
the Identification test are consistently at the tunables’ upper/lower limits, the local tunable values may

be clamped, in which case you may have to change the CURRENT value. Refer to section 4.2.2 for
more information.

THE PROGRAMMER MUST WRITE THE FIRING ANGLE VALUE INTO THE FIELD TEST ANGLE

REGISTER (104/1104) BEFORE ENABLING THE FIELD ALPHA TEST,, THE ACTUAL MOTOR
FIELD MUST NOT BE IN THE CIRCUIT. UNCONTROLLED MACHINE OPERATION MAY RESULT
IF THIS PROCEDURE IS NOT FOLLOWED. FAILURE TO OBSERVETHIS PRECAUTION COULD
RESULT IN BODILY INJURY.
