Paper Feeding Error
Paper Protection
When the function to protect documents (Paper protection) is activated, paper feeding stops, and the [Error]
screen on the touch screen displays one of the following codes.
J0:37 Paper protection (feeding noise)
Remove the document and check it.
Load it carefully so that it does not get skewed and perform the scan again.
J0:51 Paper protection (feeding accuracy)
Remove the document and check it.
Load it carefully so that it does not get skewed and perform the scan again.
The function to protect documents (Paper protection) prevents documents from being damaged during
scanning with the ADF by increasing the level of sensitivity to detect paper jams.
Take the following measures.
● If this error occurs, check if the document meets the requirements described in Documents for Scanning
(page 81) .
● If this error occurs frequently even when the document meets the requirements for scanning, lower the paper
protection sensitivity level.
● If documents remain in the ADF, remove the documents by referring to When a Paper Jam Occurs (page 142) .
Paper Jam
When a paper jam occurs, the [Error] screen on the touch screen displays one of the following codes.
J1:31 Paper jam
Remove the document, load it, then perform the scan again.
J1:50 Pick error
Remove the document, load it, then perform the scan again.
Remove jammed documents by referring to When a Paper Jam Occurs (page 142) .
If paper jams occur frequently, take measures according to Paper Jams/Pick Errors Occur Frequently (page 209) .
If the problem persists, write down the error code and contact the distributor/dealer where you purchased this
product. Refer to the contact information in the Contact List if supplied with this product, or refer to the contact
information in the Contact for Inquiries section if provided in Safety Precautions supplied with this product, and
then make an inquiry.
Multifeed
When documents are overlapped and fed into the scanner, the [Error] screen on the touch screen displays one
of the following codes.
J2:55 Multifeed detected (Overlap)
