Are the brake roller and pick roller worn out?
Solution
Check the counters for the brake roller and pick roller in the [Consumable counters] screen on the touch
screen, and replace the brake roller and pick roller if necessary.
The procedure to display the [Consumable counters] screen is as follows:
→ [Cleaning & Maintenance] → [Consumable counters]
When using the Software Operation Panel, refer to Checking the Sheet Counter (page 266) .
For details about replacing the brake roller and pick roller, refer to Replacing the Brake Roller (page 129)
and Replacing the Pick Roller (page 134) .

Is the sensitivity level for the paper protection function set to high in the touch screen or the Software
Operation Panel?
Solution
In the [Paper protection] screen on the touch screen, select [Low] for [Feeding Accuracy Sensitivity] and
[Feeding Noise Sensitivity].
The [Paper protection] screen can be displayed in the following procedure:
→ [Scanner Settings] → [Paper Protection] → [Paper protection] or, [Paper Protection (Touch Screen
Settings)].
When using the Software Operation Panel, refer to

[Paper Protection Sensitivity] (page 286) .
