Using an Image Scanning Application Started on the Touch Screen

This section explains about the basic flow of performing a scan using an image scanning application on the
computer started from the touch screen of the scanner.
In this case, there are necessary settings to be set in advance in order to perform a scan.

Button Settings (page 73)

Configure the settings for the touch screen buttons on the computer. Specify an application to be used for
image scanning for each button.
The buttons set in this step correspond with the buttons displayed in the touch screen of the scanner.
The button setting procedure varies depending on the connection method of the scanner.

When establishing a connection via a USB cable
Display the [Devices and Printers] setting window for Windows, and set the buttons in [Scan properties] for
the scanner. For details, refer to

Button Settings (page 73)

When establishing a connection via Wi-Fi or a wired LAN
Set the buttons on fi-7300NX Button Event Manager. For details, refer to the help for fi-7300NX Button
Event Manager.
Access the help for fi-7300NX Button Event Manager in the following procedure.

Start up fi-7300NX Button Event Manager.

For Windows Server 2008 R2/Windows 7
Select [Start] menu → [All Programs] → [fi Series] → [fi-7300NX Button Event Manager].

For Windows Server 2012
Right-click the Start screen, and select [All apps] on the app bar → [fi-7300NX Button Event
Manager] under [fi Series].

For Windows Server 2012 R2/Windows 8.1
Select [↓] on the lower left side of the Start screen → [fi-7300NX Button Event Manager] under [fi
Series].
To display [↓], move the mouse cursor.

For Windows 10/Windows Server 2016/Windows Server 2019
Select [Start] menu → [fi Series] → [fi-7300NX Button Event Manager].

When fi-7300NX Button Event Manager is started,

at the far right of the task bar.
