Chapter 4: System Installation

Select the wire length to safely reach from the user-supplied AC power source to the
robot base.

5. Strip 18 to 24 mm insulation from each of the three wires.

6. Insert the wires into the connector through the removable bushing.

7. Connect each wire to the correct terminal screw and tighten the screw firmly.

8. Tighten the screws on the cable clamp.

9. Reinstall the cover and tighten the screw to secure the connector.

10. Prepare the opposite end of the cable for connection to the facility AC power source.

Installing AC Power Cable to Robot

1. Connect the AC power cable to your facility AC power source. See Figure 4-4 and Figure

4-5. Do not turn on AC power at this time.

2. Plug the AC connector into the AC power connector on the interface panel on the robot.

3. Secure the AC connector with the locking latch.

4.10 Grounding the Adept Quattro Robot System

Proper grounding is essential for safe and reliable robot operation.

NOTE: You must ground the robot to the frame for all installations.

Adept Quattro Robot Base

One of the base mounting pads has two small holes (in addition to the M16 mounting hole).
One of these is an M8 hole, provided as a protective earth ground.
