MN-NETVUE

10–16

NOTE: When the servers in the NetVue Cluster are configured to integrate domain
users, NetVue client applications automatically log on to the NetVue Cluster with the
Windows user account.

10.5.3

User rights

Once identified, users have access to the NetVue Cluster applicable to their user rights. Rights are
defined according to three concepts:

Permissions

Views

Access Levels

10.5.3.1

Permissions

The administrator sets user permissions for specific actions in the NetVue Cluster.

Examples: add Elements, edit Alarm templates, etc.

10.5.3.2

Views

The administrator selects the Elements and Services that a user can see.

10.5.3.3

Access levels

The administrator can assign access levels to users and to parameters. By default, access levels range from 1
(highest) to 5 (lowest).

A user can change parameters that have access levels equal to or lower than the access level of the user.

Example: A user with access level 3 can change parameters with access levels 3, 4 and 5.

10.5.4

Groups

NetVue user groups are similar to user profiles. NetVue has two types of user groups:

1. Local groups
2. Domain groups

10.5.4.1
