a. Right-click the Users node.
b. Select Add New User.

2. In the Select a User dialog box, do either Step a or Step b:

a. Select a domain user from the list and click OK.

NOTE: Step 2a is possible only if the NetVue Cluster has been added to a domain.

NetVue users are added to the NetVue Cluster and the Windows operating system of
the DMA.

b. Click New User to create a NetVue User.

In the New User dialog box, enter the user’s details and click OK.


The new group name is a Copy of the original group name. All group properties in the General tab and all
user permissions in the System Display tab are copied to the new group.

User members in one group inherit their rights from that group. Examples of inherited rights include
permissions, views and access levels.

User members in multiple groups inherit the highest level of rights from those groups. For example:

A user is a member in both Group 1 and Group 2.

Group 1 has read-only access to a View.

Group 2 has write access to the same View.

The user inherits the higher level of write access to the View from Group 2.

10.5.6.3.2 Editing user details

1. In the Security Tree section:

a. Click the user.

2. In the General tab of the Settings User section:

b. Change the user’s general properties:

User name, which is also the name of the associated user account on the Windows operating system of
the NetVue Servers. Change this user name only when absolutely necessary.
