rsvp-hello

This configures RSVP-TE Hello with default values on all the mpls-interfaces provided the
mpls-interface does not have any local interface level configuration for the same. Interface level
configuration takes precedence over global configuration.

RSVP hello configuration at the global MPLS RSVP level

Interval and tolerance for RSVP-TE Hello protocol can be configured at global MPLS RSVP level. The
global configuration is pushed to all the mpls-interfaces if interface level configurations is not
present. In addition to these two parameters, one more parameter can be configured at global
MPLS RSVP level, namely, acknowledgements.

rsvp-hello

This will enable the RSVP-TE Hello feature with
default values on all the mpls-interfaces if no
interface level configuration is present for RSVP
Hello.

9 seconds

1 -60 seconds

tolerance value

1 -255

The [no] form of the command does not take interval or tolerance as parameters. So, on executing
no rsvp-hello command on the global MPLS RSVP level removes the global configuration for hello.
All the mpls-interfaces which does not have an interface level configuration for RSVP-TE Hello will
now stop executing (disable) hello protocol on that interface.

Hello-interval and hello-tolerance at mpls-interface level

RSVP-TE Hello interval and tolerance can be configured at mpls-interface level as well. Interface
level configurations take precedence over global configurations. These parameters can be
individually configured for each mpls-interface.

Hello-interval and hello-tolerance at mpls-interface level

The [no] form of the command does not take interval or tolerance as parameters. Executing no
rsvp-hello command on the mpls-interface level would set the RSVP-TE Hello parameters to the
globally configured RSVP Hello parameter values. If RSVP Hello is not configured globally, then it
would disable RSVP Hello on the mpls-interface. Executing this would remove the configuration
from the interface level and would no longer display RSVP Hello configuration at the interface level
in the show configuration.

Syntax

rsvp-hello [acknowledgements|interval value |tolerance value]
