Runs an online test that verifies the SAC is integrated with the LAN subsystem, is owned, and is in
the Started state.

Start

Loads the controller operational code and starts the ServerNet addressable controller. The SAC must
be in the Stopped state before you perform this action. When the Start action completes, the SAC is
in the Started state.

Test Verify

Runs the power-on self-test for the SAC component of the CRU. To perform this action, the CRU
must be in the Started state, and the SAC component must be in the Stopped or Diagnose state.

SCSI Controller

A controller that manages devices using the Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) protocol. This
SCSI controller is a component of Processor Multifunction (

PMF

) CRUs and I/O Multifunction

(

IOMF

) CRUs.

Location in OSM Tree: System > Group > Module > PMF2 > SCSI Controller

Slot Location: SCSI controllers are located on PMF CRUs in slots 50 and 55 of processor
enclosures and on IOMF CRUs in slots 50 and 55 of I/O enclosures.

SCSI ID

The ID to which the device answers on the SCSI bus:

4 or 5: Tape devices

6 or 7: Controllers

8 and 9: SCSI extenders/FC converters

The remaining IDs are for the device on the SCSI bus.
