Service State

Displayed in the Attributes tab and Attributes dialog box only if attention or
service is required.

Values

Logical

Presence

Whether the switch is installed and responding.

Values: Present, Absent, and Unknown

Locator

User-assigned text that can be used to help identify the switch. The text is assigned
by using the Set Locator action.

Example: Switch On Left in 1205

Topology

The network topology and ServerNet nodes supported by this 6770 switch. The
value is equivalent to the configuration tag of the ServerNet II switch.

Replace

Launches an interactive procedure that provides help for replacing switch components.

Set Locator

This action allows you to enter text to aid in locating or identifying the switch. This text appears
as the Locator attribute. These ASCII characters cannot be used in the Set Locator field: =, +,
&, or %. Also, copy and paste features do not work in this field. For more information, see

Value: Free-form text up to 64 characters long.

6780 Switch Module

A hardware component that provides connectivity for multiple nodes of a second-generation
ServerNet cluster using the layered topology. As part of the layered topology, the 6780 switch
module comprises one cluster switch layer within a cluster switch group. The 6780 switch
connects to the nodes through fiber-optic cables that connect to modular ServerNet expansion
boards (

MSEB

s) on each node.
