Revision C

7.8.5 AIR INTAKE SYSTEM

IMPORTANT

Do not run engine with air cleaner
disconnected or disassembled.

Engine intake air (A) is drawn through a duct (B)
from the cooling box that pre-cleans the air, and
then through a dual element filter (C).

The air cleaner canister is equipped with a
vacuator valve (D) that removes dust continuously
from the air cleaner housing.

The air cleaner is also equipped with a restriction
switch (E) which activates a warning light on the
CDM with an alarm when the primary filter
element requires cleaning.

NOTE

The warning light could activate when
operating in extremely dirty conditions, in
which case the filter element should be
cleaned. Under normal operating
conditions, filter servicing should be
performed at the specified interval. Refer to
Section 7.14 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE.
