5.2 OPERATOR

PRESENCE

The Operator Presence System is a safety feature
that is designed to deactivate or alarm selected
systems when the operator is not seated at the
Operator’s station.

These systems include:

• Header

Drive

• Engine and Transmission

5.2.1 HEADER

DRIVE

• Requires the operator to be seated in the seat

in order to engage the header drive.

• Power is maintained to the header drive for 5

seconds after the operator leaves the seat,
and then the header shuts down.

• After the header has shutdown automatically,

the header engage switch must be moved to
“OFF” position, and back to the “ON” position
again to restart the header.

5.2.2 ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

• The engine will not be allowed to start when

the header drive switch is engaged.

• The engine will not be allowed to start when

the transmission is not locked in neutral.

• The engine will shutdown when the windrower

is moving at 5 mph (8 km/h) or less, and the
operator leaves the seat.

• If the operator leaves the seat and the

transmission is not locked in neutral, after 5
seconds the lower display will flash “NOT IN
NEUTRAL” accompanied by an alarm.

• When the seat is in between cab-forward and

engine-forward positions, the engine will shut
off if the transmission is not locked in the
neutral position. The lower display will flash
“LOCK SEAT BASE” until the seat base is
locked into position.
