PoE Port Status Indicator The PoE port status indicator on the PoE expansion modules shows the
functionality and status of the PoE ports.
Table 27 - PoE Port Status Indicator
Status Description
Off PoE is off. If a powered device is receiving power from an AC power source, the port status
indicator is off even if a powered device is connected to the switch port.
Solid green PoE is on. The status indicator is green only when the switch port is providing power.
Alternating green
and amber PoE is denied because providing power to a powered device exceeds the power capacity of the
expansion module.
Flashing amber PoE is off due to a fault.
ATTENTION: Noncompliant cabling or powered devices can cause a PoE port fault. Use only
standard-compliant cabling.
Solid amber PoE for the module is disabled.
