ENTER

Confirm the selected measuring range by pressing the

<ENTER> key.

>PARAM/detector
full scale: 200

µµS/cm

The next inquiry which appears concerns the full-scale

range. The full-scale range (operating range) is used to set

the desired sensitivity for the display and analog output of

the measuring signal during the recording of the chroma-

togram. This value is set using the <FULL SCALE> key,

but not until later (see section 3.4, point 2

2).

ENTER

Confirm the preset value corresponding to the measuring

range by pressing the <ENTER> key.

>PARAM/detector
temp.coeff.: 2.5 %/°C

The next inquiry concerns the temperature coefficient for

the automatic conversion of the conductivity from the oper-

ating temperature of the measuring cell to the reference

temperature of 20° C. The preset value of

"

2.5 %/°C

"

ap-

plies to anions, the value applicable to cations

"

1.5 %/°C

"

can be selected by pressing the <SELECT> key.

ENTER

Confirm the preset value for anions by pressing the

<ENTER> key.

8 Enter parameters for analog output

PARAM
>PARAM/analog output

After the last action of point 7, the title of the submenu

"a

nalog output

appears.

ENTER

Press the <ENTER> key to move to the inquiries.

>PARAM/analog output
polarity: +

The polarity of the analog output signal can be switched

with the <SELECT> key between

"

+

"

and

"

"

. To ensure

that a positive signal is always outputted for peaks, nor-

mally

"

+

"

is used for the determination of anions and

"

"

for that of cations.

ENTER

Confirm the correct polarity

"

+

"

for our example with the

<ENTER> key.

>PARAM/analog output
offset: 0 %fs

The second inquiry concerns the offset of the analog

output signal. This offset of the zero point of the conductiv-

ity can be set to 10 % or 50 % of the full-scale range using

the <SELECT> key. Such an offset of the zero point is pri-

marily advisable when the integrator or the evaluation sys-

tem do not accept any negative voltage values. As this is

not the case for «IC Metrodata for Win95», the value can be

left at

"

0 %fs

"

.

ENTER

Confirm the preset value with the <ENTER> key.
