4.6.7 PM Scheduler
The PM Scheduler runs tests on IP Addresses in the order in which they are listed on the
Addresses screen (Figure 4-21). Use the PM Scheduler to enable testing and set the policy, or
type of scheduling, for frequency and timing of testing. When testing is enabled, it runs
automatically according to the schedule. You can select to distribute the tests evenly over a set
time with idle time between tests, or you can select a set delay between tests. The End Delay
parameter shows the time between when the current schedule ends and the next schedule
starts.
Also displayed are the details of the Previous Test and the Current Test, when running. After a
Test is run, the Current Test information is copied over to the Previous Test area.
1. To configure PM scheduling, on the Network Performance screen, type 6 and press
Enter. The PM Scheduler screen (Figure 4-28) opens.

2. Type 1 and press Enter to set the State of the scheduler to Enabled or Disabled.
NOTE: Disabling and enabling the schedule will cause the test cycle to start over.
3. Type 2 and press Enter to configure the policy that the scheduler will use in scheduling
the addresses to be tested. There are two policies: Delay and Distributed.
• Delay Policy specifies the delay between each test. You can also specify an End
Delay Time wherein the Scheduler will delay after completing all the tests in a cycle.
You could in effect run each of the tests 10 seconds apart and then wait an hour
before repeating the test.
• Distribute Policy specifies the total time over which to distribute scheduled tests. For
example, if there are further tests to be run within period of two seconds each the tests
