4.6.12 SAM Scheduler
This screen allows you to set up SAM Schedules. SAM will report on network availability on each
connection it tests.

1. On the Network Performance screen, type 9 and press Enter. The SAM Scheduler
screen (Figure 4-39) opens.
2. Type 1 and press Enter to enable or shut down the SAM Scheduler. SAM State lets you
assign one of three options:
Enabled lets you activate the SAM Scheduler.
Shutdown stops the execution of all active tests at the end of their test window status
after which the NID sets the SAM Scheduler to Disabled. If you enable the SAM
Scheduler while it is in Shutdown mode, tests that were already cancelled will be
restarted.
Shutdown Now ceases all tests regardless of their execution status, after which the NID
sets the SAM Scheduler to Disabled.
NOTE: You cannot set a SAM State of Disabled. The NID shuts down after it has completed
either a Shutdown or Shutdown Now.
3. Type 2 and press Enter to configure the update interval.
Update Interval (min) lets you assign a time interval (5-60 min) for updates from the NID
to CV-EMS. For example, if you select an interval of 5 minutes, the NID will update CV-
EMS every 5 minutes. Default is 15.
