Prior to the Blur node, all of the values are boosted to 1 when multiplied by the first
Brightness node’s adjustment of 4. After the Blur node, the values are then dropped to a
maximum value of .25 when the second Brightness value of .25 is applied.
As you can see, the result is altogether different than the result in Example 1. This can
be avoided by always making sure that the color-correction nodes in your tree are
properly concatenating.

• ContrastRGB (but not ContrastLum)
• DelogC
• Expand
