Select the baud rate, data bits, stop bits, parity and flow control settings for the serial port
connected to the utility device. These settings must agree with the corresponding settings
of the device.

Device Type

Select Utility Device if you wish to configure a score board, cash drawer or traffic lights.
Otherwise, select None.

Connector

This list displays all the possible serial port connections that can be used to connect the
utility device to your PC. The list contains COM1 through COM8 even though you may
not have all these ports available. If you attempt to use an unavailable serial port, you will
receive the error message "Error 68 - Device Unavailable" when you test the connection
(see Test button).

Utility Port Function

Choices for the Utility Port are:

Scoreboard - Net Weight Display the net weight on the scoreboard.

Scoreboard - Charge

Display the total charge (when available) on the
scoreboard.

Open Cash Drawer

Automatically open a cash drawer when a cash
transaction has been completed and there is an
amount due.

Traffic Lights

Control a Red/Green traffic light as follows: Turn
traffic light red when scale weight exceeds
threshold (truck on scale). Turn traffic light green
when scale weight is below threshold (no truck on
scale). Turn traffic light green whenever data is
stored. Light will remain green until scale weight
drops below threshold and next truck drives on
scale.
