7. Press ENTER.
8. Type EDIT BOOT.INI
9. Press ENTER. The boot.ini file contains a list of all installed operating systems.

A list of all the installed operating systems appears. Find the line similar to the
following.
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition" /fastdetect
11. At the end of the line add:
/NoSerialMice=[COM1]
12. Select FILE | SAVE.
13. Select FILE | EXIT.
14. Type Exit at the command prompt.
15. Shutdown the computer and power off.
16. Reconnect the scale indicator to COM1.
17. Boot the computer.
