FAQ

QuickBooks Interface Module

Summary of Transact Export / QuickBooks Import Procedures

The QuickBooks Data Synchronization tool has been created and tested using
QuickBooks Pro 2004. Advanced Weighing Systems (AWS) will not guarantee or
support the functionality of this tool with older versions of QuickBooks.

QuickBooks requires an invoice number when transferring transactions into accounts
receivable, therefore, invoices must be generated in Transact. This requires Transact,
revision 4.0.34 with the 3rd party accounting interface or Transact Plus revision 4.0.34,
be installed on the computer running QuickBooks Pro 2004. The QuickBooks transfer
process will not work with the standard Transact package. An update to the current
Transact version 4.x will be provided to those customer running a version of Transact
4.0.33 or older.

The QuickBooks Data Synchronization tool will correctly transfer the following
accounting transactions from Transact to QuickBooks Pro 2004:

Invoiced Transactions (Charges)
Cash Sales
Payments / Credits
Material Returns
Taxes

It is required that the following tables be synchronized between Transact and
QuickBooks:

Accounts
Haulers/Vendors
Materials
Taxes

This means that for every valid account, hauler, material, and tax in Transact, there must
be a corresponding customer, vendor, item, and tax in QuickBooks. The QuickBooks
Data Synchronization tool provides a table synchronization tool to aid you in performing
this task.
