8.1 Replacement of the Drive Chain or Timing the MSA Ring Gear to the Pinion Gears

8.1.1

Remove the 2 5/16-18 Hex Nuts (Figure 1 Item 9) from the threaded studs that hold the Leadscrew

Carriage Assembly (Figure 5) to the face of the Ring Gear.

8.1.2

Remove the Leadscrew Carriage Assembly (Figure 5) from the studs located on the Ring Gear.

8.1.3

Remove 2 of the1/4-20 X ½ lg. Button Head Cap Screws (Figure 2 Item 11) from the face of the MSA

Ring Gear Cover (Figure 2 Item 8).

8.1.4

Remove 4 of the1/4-20 X 1/2" lg. Button Head Cap Screws (Figure 2 Item 11) from the back of the

MSA Ring Gear Cover (Figure 2 Item 8) that holds the cover to the Back Motor Bracket (Figure 2 Item

6).

8.1.5

Loosen Setscrews in the crank pinion side of the K Coupling (Figure 2 Item 9).

8.1.6

Remove 2 of the1/4-20 X 1” lg. Hex Head Cap Screws (Figure 2 Item 1) from the face of the MSA

Standoff Bracket

8.1.7

(Figure 2 Item 3) that holds the MSA Standoff (Figure 2 Item 10) to the MSA Standoff Bracket.

8.1.8

While holding the Back Motor Bracket (Figure 2 Item 6) and Control System Assembly (Figure 6),

slide the K Coupling off the shaft of the Crank Pinion.

8.1.9

Remove 2 of the1/4-20 X ½ lg. Hex Head Cap Screws (Figure 2 Item 1) located in the backside of the

Single and Double bearing brackets and remove MSA Standoff Bracket (Figure 2 Item 3).

8.1.10 Install the Crank Handle onto the Crank Pinion of the Double Bearing Bracket.

8.1.11 Follow the instructions in the MSA Parts and Operating for retiming of the Pinion Gear to the Ring

Gear or replacement of the drive chain of a manual MSA Saddle Machine.

8.2 Replacement of the Drive Chain or Timing the 1SA Ring Gear to the Pinion Gears

8.2.1

Remove the 2 5/16-18 Hex Nuts (Figure 1 Item 9) from the threaded studs that hold the Leadscrew

Carriage Assembly (Figure 5) to the face of the Ring Gear.

8.2.2

Remove the Leadscrew Carriage Assembly (Figure 5) from the studs located on the Ring Gear.

8.2.3

Remove 2 of the1/4-20 X ½ lg. Button Head Cap Screws (Figure 3 Item 13) from the face of the 1SA

Ring Gear Cover (Figure 3 Item 11).

8.2.4

Remove 4 of the1/4-20 X 1/2" lg. Button Head Cap Screws (Figure 3 Item 13) from the back of the

1SA Ring Gear Cover (Figure 3 Item 11) that holds the cover to the Back Motor Bracket (Figure 3
Item 8).

8.2.5

Loosen Setscrews in the crank pinion side of the K Coupling (Figure 3 Item 10).

8.2.6

Remove 2 of the1/4-20 X 1” lg. Hex Head Cap Screws (Figure 3 Item 2) from the face of the 1SA

Standoff Bracket

8.2.7

(Figure 3 Item 1) that holds the 1SA Rear Standoff (Figure 3 Item 10) to the 1SA Standoff Bracket.

8.2.8

While holding the Back Motor Mounting Bracket (Figure 3 Item 8) and Control System Assembly

(Figure 6), slide the K Coupling off the shaft of the Crank Pinion.

8.2.9

Remove 2 of the1/4-20 X ½ lg. Hex Head Cap Screws (Figure 2 Item 11) located in the backside of the

Single and Double Bearing Bracket and remove MSA Standoff Bracket (Figure 2 Item 3).

8.2.10 Install the Crank Handle onto the Crank Pinion of the Double Bearing Bracket.
