Preface

The H3C S6300 documentation set includes 14 configuration guides, which describe the software

features for the H3C S6300 Switch Series and guide you through the software configuration procedures.

These configuration guides also provide configuration examples to help you apply software features to
different network scenarios.
The Network Management and Monitoring Configuration Guide describes network management and

monitoring fundamentals and configuration. It describes how to view the system information, collect

traffic statistics, assess the network performance, synchronize time for all devices with clocks in your
network, and use the ping, tracert, and debug commands to check and debug the current network
connectivity.

Boldface

Bold text represents commands and keywords that you enter literally as shown.

Italic

Italic text represents arguments that you replace with actual values.

[ ]

Square brackets enclose syntax choices (keywords or arguments) that are optional.

{ x | y | ... }

Braces enclose a set of required syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which
you select one.

[ x | y | ... ]

Square brackets enclose a set of optional syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from
which you select one or none.
