Bindery Settings

Bindery services are a stand-alone database system that contains user information and security data.

NetWare can use Bindery services for authentication.

If you are using Bindery mode, under Bindery Settings, in the File Server fields, type the names of up to

four primary file servers.

Note:

When the printer uses Bindery mode, the NDS Tree and NDS Context fields are ignored.

Configuring NetWare Directory Services (NDS) Settings

NetWare Directory Services (NDS) is a hierarchical, object-oriented database that represents all of the

assets of an organization in a logical tree structure. Assets can include printers, servers, computers,

people, organizations, and more.
1.

In Xerox

®

CentreWare

®

Internet Services, click

Properties > Connectivity > Setup.

2.

Under Protocol, next to Netware, click Edit.

3.

In the NetWare Directory Services (NDS) pane, select an option:

IPv4 sets a static IPv4 address.

Host Name is configured with an NDS server.

Note:

Select NDS server only if using Workflow Scanning or server fax.

4.

Under NDS Tree, type a name. If using bindery or bindery emulation, leave blank.

5.

Under NDS Context, type a name. If using bindery or bindery emulation, leave blank.

6.

Under NDS Server, type an IP address as needed.

7.

Click Save.

NDPS/NEPS

Novell Distributed Print Services (NDPS)/Novell Enterprise Print Services (NEPS) allow you to manage

printers in an NDPS environment. To configure and manage network print services, the Xerox NDPS

solution provides Xerox

®

plug-ins for Novell NWAdmin and iManager tools.

NetWare users do not need to install individual print drivers. When users connect to a printer, the proper

print driver is downloaded. Printer objects are created automatically in the NDS Tree. Users can monitor

real-time printer and job status.
