Constant Metronome

This parameter allows you to enable or disable the constant metronome. This parameter works
in conjunction with the Enable Metronome parameter, and the mode in which the unit is
operating (Manual, Advisory/CPR Protocol, or AED) determines how these parameters
function together. When the Enabled Metronome parameter is set to Never, Constant
Metronome is disabled. The following paragraphs and Table 1, “CPR Metronome Activity,” on
page 133 provide more detailed information.

Constant Metronome Enabled

When Constant Metronome is Enabled and Enable Metronome is set to Always, the metronome
is on when CPR is detected, and off when CPR is idle in all modes.

When Constant Metronome is Enabled and Enable Metronome is set to AED Mode Only:

Manual Mode and Advisory/CPR Protocol Mode -- No metronome.

AED Mode -- Metronome is on when CPR is detected, and off when CPR is idle.

Constant Metronome Disabled

When Constant Metronome is Disabled and Enable Metronome is set to Always:

Manual Mode and Advisory/CPR Protocol Mode-- Metronome is only on when
compressions are less than 80 per minute during CPR.

AED Mode -- Metronome is on at the start of CPR period.
