4.8 DIAGNOSTICS

Select 8. Diagnostics to provide diagnostic data on each installed sensor. The following display
will appear, depending on the sensors which you have enabled in Sensor Setup.

Information taken from the display in this option can be helpful for both the user and authorized
service technicians in diagnosing problems which could occur with your sensors. In the lower
portion of the display, DO Chg refers to a unitless parameter which reflects the condition of the
electrode surfaces of the Rapid Pulse DO sensor. ISE1 mv and ISE2 mv refer to the voltage
output of the pH sensor (ISE1) and the other potentiometric sensor which could be ammonium,
nitrate, or ORP. AUX ADC refers to the digital output (A/D counts) of the turbidity sensor.
When Diagnostics is activated, the above parameters are displayed and are updated in real-time.

In the upper portion of the display, the information is not updated in real-time, the values being
derived from the last calibration of the particular sensors. In this section are shown the cell
constant of the conductivity sensor (Cell Constant), the sensitivity of the pulsed DO sensor (DO
Gain
), the pressure offset of the depth sensor ( Pres Offset), and a hexidecimal value which
provides information about the function of the turbidity sensor (Turbidity Status).

To exit the Diagnostics mode, press Esc as prompted. The display will momentarily show the
message Initializing Sensors and then the Main menu will appear.
