Configuration Menus
VFU Select
The VFU Select feature controls how the printer handles vertical formatting.
•
EVFU: Enables the VFU and selects P–Series compatible Electronic
Vertical Format Unit (EVFU).
•
DVFU: Enables the VFU and selects the Dataproducts compatible
Direct Access Vertical Format Unit (DVFU).
•
CVFU: Enables the VFU and selects the Centronics compatible Direct
Access Vertical Format Unit (CVFU).
•
Disable: Disables all VFU processing.
Alt. Set 80–9F
This feature determines whether the printer processes ASCII codes 80 hex
through 9F hex as control codes or as printable characters.
Character Set
You can specify IBM PC, Multinational, ECMA Latin 1, or DEC Multinational, as
the character set under the P–Series standard sets. As
several language and special character set choices are available as submenu
options under IBM PC, Multinational, ECMA Latin 1, and DEC Multinational. IBM
PC with ASCII (USA) as the Primary Subset and with Code page 437 as the
Extended Subset is the default character set.
There are also a number of groups of multinational character sets. To use one of
these sets, choose the desired group heading (such as European Sets) and press
ENTER. Then choose the desired set within that group (such as Roman 8) and press
ENTER. Both the group and the desired set will be starred to indicate selection.
SFCC d Command
This menu option is for backward compatibility.
•
Even dot plot: This option interprets SFCC d command as even dot plot.
•
Double high: This option interprets SFCC d Command as double high.
Select this option for backward compatibility.
