Configuration where XP12000/XP10000 and XP24000/XP20000 Disk
Arrays are Connected
Universal Replicator for Mainframe can execute remote copy operations in a system configuration
where XP24000/XP20000 and XP12000/XP10000 Disk Arrays are connected. Specifically, the
following configurations are supported.
•
System configuration for remote copy operation by Universal Replicator for Mainframe from
an XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array to an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array.
•
System configuration for remote copy operation by Universal Replicator for Mainframe from
an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array to an XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array.
The following are described for the connection between an XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and
an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array.
•
Logical storage system (LDKC) that can be connected to an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array
•
Volume pair that can create pairs
•
Connection with an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array in a 3DC remote copy configuration
•
Connection with an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array when using extended consistency groups
Logical Storage System (LDKC) that Can be Connected to an XP12000/XP10000
Disk Array
When you execute remote copy by connecting an XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array with an
XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array, configure a logical path between the LDKC of the
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and the XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array. In this case, the logical
path can be configured only between LDKC00 of the XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and the
XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array. Therefore, you cannot configure a logical path between LDKC01
of an XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and an XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array (see
“Universal
Replicator for Mainframe Remote Copy Connection Configuration” (page 60) ).
More than one XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array can be connected to LDKC00 of an
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array.
NOTE:
•
There is only one LDKC: LDKC00.
•
The steps to configure a logical path between an XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array and an
XP12000/XP10000 Disk Array is the same as the steps to set logical paths between volumes
of an XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array. For detailed information about the steps to configure
logical paths, see
“Configuring Storage Systems and Logical Paths” (page 137) .
