Consistency Group
If you use the At-Time Split function when combining Universal Replicator for Mainframe with
ShadowImage for Mainframe, take the following considerations into account:
•
The specified split time is enabled even after the split operation has been executed on a
ShadowImage for Mainframe pair. When you execute the split operation again on a
ShadowImage for Mainframe consistency group that has been split before, specify the split
time after deleting the split time registered before.
•
In a cascading configuration of Universal Replicator for Mainframe and TrueCopy for
Mainframe, the At-Time Split function cannot be used for ShadowImage for Mainframe pairs
in conjunction with Universal Replicator for Mainframe S-VOLs.
•
When you use the At-Time Split function on the following pairs, enable the time-stamp
transferring option of all the TrueCopy for Mainframe pairs in the journal group. If the
time-stamp transferring option is not enabled, the data consistency cannot be guaranteed in
the ShadowImage for Mainframe consistency group.
◦ Cascading configuration of Universal Replicator for Mainframe and TrueCopy for
Mainframe, and when the ShadowImage for Mainframe pair shares volume with Universal
Replicator for Mainframe S-VOL.
◦ Multitarget configuration of Universal Replicator for Mainframe and TrueCopy for
Mainframe, and when the ShadowImage for Mainframe pair shares volume with Universal
Replicator for Mainframe S-VOL (only when the pairs becomes cascading configuration
during disaster recovery operation).
•
The specified split time will be reset by executing the PS OFF of RCU.
•
You cannot execute the Reverse Resync of Universal Replicator for Mainframe when the split
time is already specified. Execute Reverse Resync after you delete all the specified split time
of ShadowImage for Mainframe pairs in conjunction with the restore journal group. For details
on Reverse Resync, see the HP Business Continuity Manager Software User's Guide.
•
When the split time is set to a ShadowImage for Mainframe consistency group, you cannot
perform the Add Pair operation, Pair Resync operation, or Split Pair operation from Business
Continuity Manager. If you need to execute the Add Pair operation, Pair Resync operation,
or Split Pair operation, delete the split time in advance. When the split time is set to a
