Open the oil drain valve.

WHEN DRAINING HOT ENGINE OIL THERE IS A RISK OF SCALDING.

DO NOT LET USED OIL RUN INTO THE SOIL; COLLECT THE USED OIL IN A CON-
TAINER SUITABLE FOR DISPOSAL OR RECYCLING. DISPOSE OF THE USED
ENGINE OIL IN ACCORDANCE WITH ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS.

6.

Drain the oil.

7.

Close the oil drain valve.

8.

Pour in new engine oil. Refer to Section 1 for capacity
and refer to Figure 3-67., Engine Oil Viscosity for the
proper grade.

Changing the Oil Filter

1.

Wipe the area around the filter to clean any dirt from the
area.

2.

Using a suitable oil filter removal tool, loosen the lube oil
filter cartridge and spin off.

3.

Catch any escaping oil.

4.

Clean any dirt from the filter carrier sealing surface.

5.

Lightly oil the rubber gasket on the new oil filter.
