16 – Troubleshooting

If the operation of this unit becomes irregular, please

check the following things before requesting repair.

If the following measures do not resolve the problem,

contact the store where you purchased the device or a

TEAC Repair Center.

Power does not turn on.

Confirm that the power plug, for example, is connected

i

completely.

Media is not recognized.

Confirm that the card is securely inserted into the card

i

slot.

Pause recording or playback once.

i

The unit controls do not function.

Is the panel lock function ON?

i

Playback is not possible

Confirm that the audio file's sampling frequency (44.1/47

i

.952/48/48.048/88.2/96/176.4/192kHz) and quantization

bit rate (16/24) are compatible.

Confirm that the sampling frequency of the project and

i

the audio file(s) are the same.

There is no sound.

Reconfirm the connections of your monitoring system and

i

check the volume of your amplifier.

When using a TASCAM RC-HS32PD/RC-HS20PD remote

i

controller (sold separately), confirm that the fader is not

lowered.

If you cannot hear the input signal, turn input monitoring

i

ON.

If you cannot hear the playback signal, turn input

i

monitoring OFF.

Check the online function and online playback mode

i

settings.

Confirm that Monitor Mute by Online is set to OFF on the

i

SETUP page of the AUDIO I/O screen. If it is ON, the
monitoring signal will be muted when online.

Recording is not possible.

Reconfirm connections.

i

Adjust the recording levels.

i

If the CF card does not have sufficient space, erase

i

unneeded data to increase the amount of available space

or use a different card.

If the maximum number of recordable takes or the

i

maximum take number has been reached, change the

recording session.

If the total number of items in the folder, including files

i

and subfolders/directories, is too large, change the

recording session.

Setting changes are not remembered.

This unit backs up settings whenever the CF card selection

i

is changed, whenever a project, session or a take is loaded,

and whenever playback or recording occurs. After startup,

if none of these actions is conducted, settings might not

be backed up even if they are changed.

I hear noise.

Confirm that none of the cables have problems.

The touch panel does not work properly.

Do not use commercially-available protective film for LCD

i

screens on the touch panel.

Confirm that the panel lock function is not engaged and

i

locking the display.

I cannot create a new project.

Confirm that a project with the same name does not

i

already exist.

If the amount of space remaining on the CF card is

i

insufficient, a new project cannot be created. Erase

unneeded data and then create the project.
