Receiving New Batteries

New batteries do not arrive fully charged. Charge each new battery before use. Batteries may be

charged using any of the following devices:

• Station Lithium-ion battery charger for use with the LIFEPAK 15 monitor/defibrillator

• Mobile Lithium-ion battery charger for use with the LIFEPAK 15 monitor/defibrillator

• REDI-CHARGE battery charger

• AC power adapter for use with the LIFEPAK 15 monitor/defibrillator

• DC power adapter for use with the LIFEPAK 15 monitor/defibrillator

Storing Batteries

Li-ion batteries self-discharge during storage.

If you store the battery:

• Do not remove the Charge Before Use label to indicate that the battery has not yet been

charged.

• Store batteries at temperatures between 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F).

• Charge the battery fully within one year of when you receive it. Fully recharge the battery once

per year thereafter.

Charging Batteries

• Charge batteries before use. Batteries may be charged in a battery charger, or in the

LIFEPAK 15 monitor/defibrillator if it is connected to an auxiliary power source using a

LIFEPAK 15 monitor/defibrillator power adapter.

CAUTION

POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

When storing the LIFEPAK 15 monitor/defibrillator for an extended period of time, the

battery should be removed from the device.

WARNING

POSSIBLE LOSS OF POWER DURING PATIENT CARE

Stored batteries lose charge. Failure to charge a stored battery before use may cause

device power failure without warning. Always charge a stored battery before placing it

in active use.
