BLK_BY_ICL state indicates that the superior BPDUs are being received on the interface, which
leads to blocking of the ICL interface.
•
Due to the blocking of the ICL interface, the ICL port guard mechanism is triggered on the port.
•
FWD_BY_MCT state indicates that the MCT peer has set the CCEP state to FORWARDING.
•
BLK_BY_MCT state indicates that the MCT peer has set the CCEP state to BLOCKING.
MCT feature interaction
The following are the supported and unsupported features for configuring MCT.
Supported features
The following features are supported for configuring MCT.
•
LACP on both ICL and CCEP
•
VRRP on the CCEP
•
Flooding features (broadcast flooding, unknown-unicast flooding, and multicast flooding) are
supported on the non-cluster VLANs.
•
UDLD as independent boxes.
•
Link OAM as independent boxes.
•
STP and RSTP
•
MRP and MRP II are supported with the restriction that the ICL port cannot be the secondary
port of the MRP ring.
•
ARP as independent boxes.
•
Layer 3 routing - The IP address can be assigned on the CCEP ports for VRRP purposes.
However, the routing protocols cannot be enabled on the CCEP ports.
•
Port MAC security on the programmed node.
•
802.1x on the programmed node.
•
Static MAC configuration - Static MAC addresses are programmed on both the local and
remote peers as static entries
Unsupported features
The following features are not supported for configuring MCT.
•
MSTP, VSRP, RIP, OSPF, IS-IS, IPv6, VRRPv3, IPv6 VRRP-E, and BGP
•
GRE is not supported on the ICL Virtual Ethernet (VE) interfaces.
•
Hardware flooding features (broadcast flooding, unknown-unicast flooding, and multicast
flooding) are not supported on the cluster VLANs.
•
Hitless failover. If the operation is performed with the cluster configuration, the TCP session is
re-established. The MAC entries from the cluster peers are revalidated and programmed
accordingly.
Brocade recommends shutting down all the CCEPs on the cluster node so that there is graceful
failover and hitless operation can be performed.
