• If the keepalive VLAN is not configured and both the peers are up, then both the peers keep
forwarding the traffic independently.
Setting the keepalive timers and hold time for the peers
To specify the keepalive timers and hold time for the peers, enter the following command.
BigIron RX(config-cluster-TOR)# peer 1.1.1.1 timers keep-alive 40 hold-time 120
Syntax: [no] peer <peer-ip> timers keep-alive <keep-alive time> hold-time <hold-time>
The <peer-ip> variable specifies the IP address of the peer and must be in the same subnet as that
of cluster management interface.
The <keep-alive time> variable specifies the keepalive time and can take values from 0 through
21845. The default value is 30 seconds.
The <hold-time> variable specifies the hold time and can take values from 3 through 65535. The
default value is 90 seconds. The hold time must be at least three times the keepalive time.
Displaying the MCT cluster information
You can display the following information about the MCT cluster on the device:
• Detailed cluster information
• Cluster client reachability information
• Cluster peer state information
Displaying detailed cluster information
To display detailed cluster information about the ICL, peer, and clients, enter the following
command.
