TI[N] – Temperature indications array

Purpose:
Reports the drive temperature measurement:

TI[1] – reports the drive temperature in Celsius.

TI[2] – Reports the temperature at which the drive shuts itself with over-

temperature protection.

Drive temperature is measured every ~3 mSec.

It is useful to analyze the drive temperature characteristics during the application
development stages.

This feature can also serve as maintenance procedure during the machine lifetime.

The temperature is measured for over-temperature protection. The temperature

sensor works well in the 25 °C to 130 °C range. Below 25

c

measurements may be out of

range and displayed as approximately 25

c

.

Methods to obtain the temperature:

• Terminal command– query TI[1] by the host application.

• Record the temperature characteristic as a function of time by using the

Composer recorder. Map the “Temperature” record variable from the record-
mapping list.

• Using the drive’s user program to sense a certain temperature, perform some

of the following actions:

o

Stop the machine under control.

o

Reduce the current limits or change the motion profile.

o

Change a digital output level.

o

Transmit a CAN message to PLC or machine host.

Notes:

When the temperature reaches the critical level, the drive will automatically

shut down the power stage with a motor failure exception (MF=0xD000).

If the drive does not support this feature, the TI[1] command returns –55.
